Good to know 13th month pay: employers give it to rank-and-file employees not later than December 24 each year (PD 851; DOLE Handbook on Workers' Statutory Monetary Benefits). Many collect the ambag after it. The ambag is the group's agreement, not a legal duty. Write the amount, the deadline and what it covers, and let the treasurer report at the party. Rounding the ambag up to the next peso leaves a small spare — say beforehand that it goes to the raffle.
