3. How to pay
Please pay the total by [DATE OF TERMINATION + 7 DAYS] by [BANK TRANSFER TO (BANK, ACCOUNT NAME, ACCOUNT NUMBER) / CASH AGAINST A SIGNED RECEIPT].
Please give me a written receipt or statement listing each item paid, and a copy of your written notice of termination to the Director of Immigration.
If any wages or termination sums are not paid within 7 days of becoming due, interest is payable under section 25A of the Employment Ordinance. If the amounts are not paid, I will ask the Labour Relations Division of the Labour Department for help.

BEFORE SENDING — delete this part
7 days to pay. Your employer must pay all termination sums not later than 7 days after the day of termination.
7 days to notify Immigration. Both you and your employer must give the Director of Immigration written notice within seven days of the termination date. Send your own notice; do not leave it to the employer or the agency.
Two weeks to stay. After a contract is terminated early, you may normally stay in Hong Kong for not more than two weeks. Plan your new contract or your flight home within that time.
Severance or long service payment. Severance payment needs at least 24 months of service and a dismissal because of redundancy (for example, the family is moving away). Long service payment usually needs at least 5 years. You can receive only one of the two.
New contract from 3 October 2026. A new Standard Employment Contract signed on or after 3 October 2026 must pay at least HK$5,220 a month. Food allowance in lieu of free food stays at not less than HK$1,236 a month.
