4. What I ask
1. Please complete the review and reinstate my grant with the documents attached.

3. If you do not reinstate the grant, please give me adequate reasons in writing for the suspension and for the refusal, as provided in section 5 of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000 (the administrator must give reasons within 90 days after receiving the request).

5. My right to appeal
I reserve my right to lodge a written appeal with the Independent Tribunal under section 18 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004, which allows an applicant or beneficiary who disagrees with a decision of the Agency to appeal within 90 days of the decision being made, setting out the reasons why the decision should be varied or set aside.

Take two copies to the SASSA office: hand one in and ask for the other to be stamped and dated. Keep the stamped copy safe — it shows when you asked.
Count 90 days from the date of the decision (or the day you found out): that is the time to appeal to the Independent Tribunal and to ask for written reasons.
If SASSA sent you a review notice, answer it as soon as possible: according to SASSA, beneficiaries get an initial 30 days to submit documents and a further 60 days before a grant may be suspended.
Do not give your card PIN or ID original to anyone who offers to "unlock" a grant for you.
